4D Tester

Free & Clear, the national leader in phone-based tobacco dependence treatment is looking for an experienced Tester with a background in 4D or VB/Access. The environment is both fun and fast paced and is one where the code you certify will have an immediate positive impact on the bottom line.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and executing tests against a mission critical corporate resource. Key points will be performance and capacity testing as well as base lining the existing system to establish metrics. Future initiatives revolve around improving and upgrading this system, as well as potentially migrating it to other platforms.
As our resident QA expert in this system, you will also be asked to help increase the overall 4D technical competency of the QA organization. In addition, you will help drive testing surrounding support and dependent applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Quickly come up to speed on the status of our 4D testing efforts.
- Assume ownership of our test plan and cases and maintain both.
- Help to provided estimates of testing time required for various aspects of our 4D support plan
- Drive and own test planning and test case generation.
- Create and execute tests to measure functionality and performance.
- Provide regular status including standardized test metrics and summaries of testing progress.
Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
Education, Licenses, and Certification
- Previous 4D or strong VB/Access skills required. 4D experience is desirable.
- The successful candidate will have strong previous experience in testing 4D or VB/Access enterprise level applications.
Skills and Experience
- Flexible approach to planning, tools and automation
- Previous 4D testing, coding or maintenance experience is a strong plus.
- Previous Visual Basic and Access experience at an enterprise level is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and cross team collaboration experience
- Strong testing background, including planning, case creation and execution
- Excellent skills around dealing with ambiguity.
- Motivated, self-starter, capable of working independently and remaining on task.
- Able to work closely with development staff, while staying focused on testing deliverables and priorities.
