Summary Job Description
Free & Clear is seeking a software engineer contractor to support mission-critical software built on the 4th Dimension (4D) database platform. In this role, you must be able to quickly dig into our existing applications, discover how they work and interoperate, and perform enhancements that keep the application growing at the same rate as our client base.
Key Responsibilities
- Sustaining development to our 4D applications
- System configuration and change requests to support new and existing clients
- System administration and operation support
Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
Education, Licenses, and Certification
- Bachelors degree (computer science preferred) - OR - demonstrated equivalent relevant work experience
Skills and Experience
- Experience building and supporting high performance, high availability systems
- Experience maintaining systems for a large client base and processing change requests
- Experience with legacy platforms; Visual Basic 6.0, and 4th Dimension a strong plus
- Strong SQL skills and database administration skills a plus
- Must be abstinent from tobacco and nicotine
